Introduction                     Return To Top

You have been crowned Mr./Miss Alberta. As part of your duties as the reigning King or Queen, you must visit and experience the five National Parks in Alberta.  In order to keep your crown, you must participate in at least 5 activities available at each park.  Remember money is no concern.  The Premier enjoys a good party!

The Task              Click To Download              Return To Top

Your first task is to determine which National Park offers the most tourist activities.   You will prepare a power point presentation for the Premier about your experiences.  Your second task is to determine which National Park is most visited and prepare a chart using the information you gather on your visits.

The Process                       Return To Top

1.      You will be traveling with a teacher appointed chaperone.  You will need to print the National Park Outline Sheet.

2.     You will visit the websites listed in the chart labelled Resources.

3.     Using the outline you will write a journal of activities you experience at each National Park. (Journal Example).  You also need to find out how many people visit the park each year.

4.     Using Excel, you will create a chart, showing the number of visitors in each park.  Click here to view a tutorial (a how to lesson) on creating charts in Excel.

5.     You will create a power point presentation.  For each National Park, you will create a slide that has your journal entry on one side and a picture on the other.  Your presentation needs to begin with a title slide with your names on it.  Your presentation needs to end with a slide showing the chart that you created in Excel.
